Jumpstart Welcomes New Students Into Judson Community
Mary Asta Mountain | April 14, 2026
On Friday, April 10, Judson College welcomed over 40 new students and their families to campus for the first annual Jumpstart, a unique opportunity for recently accepted students to prepare for entrance into college, meet future professors and friends, and receive their official House System assignments.
Over the course of the day, new students and their parents walked through preparations for the fall semester, starting with financial aid and class registration. They had opportunities to speak with office representatives and receive hands-on help throughout the process.
Activities later in the day featured a faculty panel, visits to the dorms on campus, an informational panel for parents, and lunch at Magnolia Kitchen (Judson’s on-campus cafeteria). Then, as the capstone of the day, the new Judson students gathered on the quad outside of Binkley Chapel for the reveal of their house assignments and an enthusiastic reception from current house members.
At Judson, community plays an integral role in students’ college experience as they are equipped to give their lives for the cause of Christ in the church, among the nations, and in every aspect of society. The House System, in particular, immerses students into Christ-centered, student-led community where they experience life-changing friendships and Great Commission living from freshman year until graduation.
As Jon Goforth, director of admissions, shared, “Students who attended Jumpstart this spring got a head start on how Judson will equip them to give their lives for the cause of Christ starting this fall and for the rest of their lives!”
As the first wave of the 2026-2027 incoming class, these Jumpstart attendees received an anticipatory look at life in Judson community as they prepare not just for the coming school year but for the one of the most influential seasons of their lives.
