Liele House Wins 10th Annual House Tournament

At Judson, House System community plays a vital role in students’ lives, studies, and spiritual walks as they prepare to give their lives for the cause of Christ in the church, among the nations, and in every aspect of society.

This past year, in addition to house competitions, students gathered together for monthly Calibrate worship nights, their annual Fall Retreat, and fall and spring break mission trips. Along with countless spontaneous gatherings, students also participate in two new calendar events: Spring Serve, a college-wide day of community service, and Jumpstart, an event welcoming newly enrolled Judson students into their house communities.

As the last hurrah of the school year before finals and graduation, students threw themselves into the House Tournament activities, competing in art, literature, music, and the Saturday morning field day.

Entering the week, Liele held the lead by a narrow margin, with Fuller House close behind. By the end of the competitions, only 300 points separated third place from first, with the totals as follows:

• Liele House in first place with 1,386 points
• Fuller House in second place with 1,260 points
• Schaeffer House in third place with 1,094 points
• Elliott House in fourth place with 934 points
• Brainerd House in fifth place with 692 points

Closing out the weekend with the end of year banquet, Liele celebrated its victory, and students prayed over their future leadership teams and house members who are graduating. As a new addition to the celebrations, this year the houses also nominated and recognized individuals for Upperclassmen of the Year, thanking these students who have poured into their communities with Christ-honoring and sacrificial hearts.
